Wildlife In Port Ludlow

One of the pleasures of living in Port Ludlow is the opportunity to observe wildlife, particularly birds. Port Ludlow is home to bald eagles, great blue herons, kingfishers, hawks, a large variety of songbirds, and many more varieties of our feathered friends. Port Ludlow is also a regular stop for many species that migrate. click for more information on bird watching in Port Ludlow

We also have a few resident deer, raccoons, and little red squirrels that scamper through our yards and chirp at us from branches high in the cedar trees. Fox, coyote, cougar, and bear are not common but are also occasionally seen or heard. click for more information on mammals that live in or near Port Ludlow

The waters that surround Port Ludlow are also rich with life. Shy harbor porpoise can be observed chasing fish. Gray whales wander in occasionally. River otters cavort. Crabs patrol the bottom and bait fish spawn in the eel grass beds. click for more information on marine life in Port Ludlow bay and Admiralty Inlet

Port Ludlow is a wonderful place for wildlife watchers.

If you haven't lived with wildlife before, and have any questions, Washington State has a series of web pages which you may be interested in titled Living with wildlife.
